Vámosmikola Country House

Vámosmikola

The building housing the Local History Collection was built in the early 20th century, with a gable roof and a tiled roof. It is built of stone and adobe, with a timber-beamed ceiling of planed boards and floors of originally tiled clay, which only survives in the back room. Rooms of the house: two living rooms, kitchen and pantry. The two windows of the front house, the washroom, face the street. The middle room is the clean kitchen, which was once heated with cows’ shavings. This is where the beautiful collection of earthenware is housed: a rich collection of plates, jugs, jars, goblets and gulls. The back room is a rich store of kitchen and domestic utensils. The collection of tools for processing hemp is very rich.
